Advantages to a small field?
When playing 4v4 game at any age, there are definitely more opportunities for technical development. Everybody wants to get more touches on the ball regardless of skill level. What is the best way to get more touches in a short amount of time? Play on a small field with less players. Here at NW Kicks players can't just kick the ball away to get some rest or clear it out of the goal area to take pressure off the goalkeeper or the defense. They need to control the ball and create opportunities for the next pass to eventually get close enough to score with technique and skill rather than power. Take a look at the videos I have on this page the players are using small goals to play a 4v4 that requires ball control and skill. With the constant change in possession and the levels of pressure each player receives, it keeps players alert and constantly moving. As a coach I teach my players, controlled passing and controlled shooting it gets them away from the kick and run after the ball soccer. (Ted Luna, Owner)
In order to ensure every player's safety, anyone playing soccer must wear shinguards.
Indoor soccer shoes or running shoes are acceptable on the field.
